Responsibility
The treatment is a co-operative effort. It is very important that everyone involved understands his or her responsibilities in order for the treatment to be successful. Also the overall cost of the therapy is directly related to the patient’s compliance. Once we select and agree upon the appropriate therapy, it is the dentist's responsibility to treat the patient, the patient's responsibility to faithfully wear the appliance and to follow the instructions of the dentist and where a parent is involved, to encourage the patient to follow directions. When everyone does their job correctly, the results can be astounding.
