Dear Patients,
Happy New Year to one and all. As we weather another brutal winter in Cleveland the prospect of an NBA championship and an early spring are on my mind.
With the new year upon us many of my patients are endeavoring to follow through with their resolutions. The most popular are weight loss and smoking cessation. Although we are not nutritionists, the effects of poor diets and smoking are seen daily in our office. Our office is currently recommending the "no-fad diet" popularized on americanheart.org. This diet is based on sound scientific research and is designed to provide you with a lifetime of successful and safe weight control. Being an exercise buff myself, i can't emphasize how important 20 minutes of some form of exercise at least 3 times a week can greatly improve your well being. Please consult with a physician before initiating any strenuous work-out regimen.
Smoking cessation is another way to greatly improve your oral and systemic health. Our office can help you kick the habit with pharmaceutical aids like Zyban, Chantix, Nicorette, or Nicoderm. Each year almost 3 million people worldwide die from complications from smoking, don't be one of them.
