Dear Patients,
As we brave another brutal winter in Cleveland, I take comfort in the knowledge that spring is around the corner and the Cavs are in first place!
Although I try to keep most of these newsletters directed toward dental topics, I recently read an amazing study that I need to share with my patients.
A research team at the University of Minnesota followed 60,000 people in Singapore for 14 years and found that those that drank two or more soft drinks a week had an 87% higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer. Oddly, those that drank fruit juice which can have as much sugar as soda did not have an increased cancer risk. Another study from John Hopkins showed a direct link with cancer cell growth and sugar. When you consider that a single can of soda can contain 13 teaspoons of sugar, perhaps it's time to reevaluate your soda intake.
In closing, I would like to make everyone aware of our Invisalign special for the months of February and March 2010. During this period we are discounting our Invisalign fee $1500.
